The BBC launched its first news website in 1997 and it quickly became one of the largest and most trusted news sources worldwide. Aside from numerous awards and accolades, it is regularly relied upon by over 320,000 unique users and generates over 14,000,000 impressions per month.

The BBC is not only the world’s largest news website with access to over 58 million users worldwide, it is also an exceptional platform to reach students and influencers.

Educate started working with the BBC in April 2010, exclusively selling, managing and running the campaigns for all UK and European universities and colleges on BBC.com and BBC mobile.

The BBC’s users are conscientious, affluent and key opinion leaders, providing you with access to students and influences alike. Specifically relevant for our success, they are internationally minded and highly receptive to educational based content.

The BBC is, and continues to become, a hugely popular and successful recruitment product for a growing number of educational institutions (in the last six month we have run over 90 university campaigns). Not only does it deliver an incredibly valuable international audience of students and parents, it generates exceptional results and ensures that institutional messages are associated to one of the world’s most recognised and trusted brands.

We individually tailor all of our campaigns based on objectives, needs and challenges. Using the BBC.com we have the ability to target users very accurately by a range of criteria, including by those who we know are reading and regularly digesting educational and subject based content and news.

After spending so many years working with hundreds of universities and colleges worldwide, we thought that we might try and help by building a product that they were looking for. StuGlo was launched in 2011 and is an exciting new site bringing together students from across the world.

The site is full of lively discussions in the forums, hosts current education news, offers users hundreds of engaging articles as well as provides users access to information about any UK institution.

The aim is for StuGlo to have everything any student needs to know, from a successful application and getting the most out of the university experience, to life post-graduation.

Universities can take more than just an display advertising on the site. They can run articles, surveys, research and best of all, we can actually push traffic to their content from their target markets!
